I Think You Earned It by Nora Marks
Gotta start this off with our favorite local boys in Nora Marks. They’re simply the best and their music kicks ass.
-
Italian Western by Jungheim
Such sweet melodies in this one and another super friendly person in the scene! Can’t wait for her new stuff.
-
Mother by Pinksqueeze
I took these guys on tour not too long ago and it was one of the best experiences of my life. This is an amazing song about mother earth.
-
Bed Head by Daylongsigh
My roommate Aaron makes incredible dreamy / lofi music under this title. They’re starting up full band shows soon so keep your eyes on em!
-
Every Song by Family Vacation
This is a great indie duo that recently started working with our “label” Take A Hike Records. It was so fun to help them plan out their release, which has been doing so well, and they’ve been playing great shows left and right!
-
Destroyer by Lala Lala
This is obviously a more well known local but I love Lillie’s music so much. “The Lamb” and “Sleepyhead” are both fantastic albums.
-
Girl K is For The People by Girl K
We’ve loved this band for years and look up to them so much! Huge fan of this new EP they put out – I think the production captures their power-pop / indie rock blend so well.
-
Honey by Modern Nun
One of my all time favorite local bands. Refreshingly original tunes and lush guitars! We would love to play a show with ’em someday.
-
Anti-glory by Horsegirl
This band is so innovative. Spooky sharp guitar tones in weird meters is right up my alley.
-
Elvis is in the Freezer by Ratboys
this band rules and has been killing it in the local scene for so long! Super cool to see them playing bigger spaces like Thalia Hall and going abroad – their success is so well-deserved.
