PREMIERE: Aweful Release New Single to Benefit Foundations of Music Organization

Aweful Not Enough

Chicago natives, Aweful, have just released their latest single and video for their newest song, “Not Enough”. This single, which is a digital release, is a benefit for Foundations of Music and the band is donating 100% of the proceeds from the digital sales of the single to the cause.

Foundations of Music brings high-quality music education to underserved classrooms and communities across Chicago. For nearly 30 years, Foundations of Music (f/k/a Rock for Kids) has been serving Chicago children and families affected by poverty. Our vision is a society where children of all means have access to music education and the opportunity to creatively express themselves through music.”

Aweful was formed in 2018 by Traci Trouble and Lucy Dekay, both well renowned and long time respected staples of the Chicago independent music scene, both having done time in some of the finest local bands in recent years such as Hotlips Messiah, Paper Bullets, Mystery Actions, and Youth Dekay. The addition of drummer Izzy Price solidified the trio and the chemistry of these three musicians took Aweful’s music to the next level. Any random group of people can get together and play music, but it is when all the members of the band share a special connection that really lifts a band up and turns them into something special and Aweful has that in spades.

“Not Enough” follows hot on the heels of Aweful’s strongest single to date “Oh Oh” and continues the band’s tradition of mixing great hooks with thick and driving guitar that packs such a punch you’d swear there must be two guitar players in the band. This results in some really powerful, yet equally accessible rock music, all lead by Traci Trouble’s great vocals which run the gamut from soothing droning to energetic wailing. Trouble is a powerful frontwoman and has truly reached her prime with Aweful, which showcases just what a great and varied range she has.
“Not Enough” is now available for download via the band’s Bandcamp page and the video is available for viewing on YouTube. 2021 has been a great year for Aweful thus far, seeing the band release two singles featuring their best work to date that shows a band that has really found their sound.
